TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian toll-road operator PT Jasa Marga announced it will temporarily halt Infrastructure constructions across every Indonesian toll-road during the annual Eid exodus or `Mudik`. Construction activities have been halted from May 26 and will start again on June 15.
Jasa Marga Director of Operations Subakti Syukur said this decision will positively impact traffic flow since it will basically open more lanes in toll roads for road users.
“One example is the Jakarta – Cikampek elevated toll road construction site that will open lanes initially closed for construction activities,” said Subakti in a written statement on Sunday, May 26.

The temporary halt is a direct follow-up from the circular letter issued by the Indonesia Toll Road Authority (BPJT) on May 22, 2019.
Other than halting construction projects and optimizing toll road lane capacities, Jasa Marga through the PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC), will constantly produce solutions to traffic issues that might arise in the 2019 mudik season.
Cranes will also be stationed on standby throughout several spots that would be used to evacuate large vehicles if needed. The JJC will also conduct patrols throughout the mudik period and close shut areas used as construction projects to prevent it being used by road users.
